An Open Information Day at St. Mark's Hospital, Northwick Park, Harrow

Organised by the the Inflammatory Bowel Disease Department and the hospital's IBD Patient Panel, this Open Information Day is designed to advance people's understanding of the disease, and to offer information regarding treatment and care.
The day is divided into three parts. The morning session will contain talks and presentations about St. Mark's Hospital, followed by the subjects of advances in medical and surgical treatment of IBD. This will be followed by an introduction to the various specialist nursing services at St. Mark's Hospital.
During lunch, a light buffet of soup and sandwiches will be served. There will be ample opportunity to visit many of the stalls there on the day. The list is growing, but at present the stalls will include: Stoma Care Team, Dieticians, Nutrition Nurses, IBD Nurses, Northwick Park Hospital Social Workers, Smoking Cessation, Friends of St. Mark’s, St. Mark’s Hospital Foundation, Crohn’s & Colitis UK, Crohn’s in Childhood Research Association (CICRA), Red Lion Group, Inside Out. Nursing staff and representatives from charities and support groups will be on hand to answer questions at their stalls during this session.
The afternoon session begins with an introduction to Crohn's & Colitis UK. This will be followed by talks on the government's ongoing reforms of the NHS, and how they will affect those suffering from Inflammatory Bowel Disease.
The event is designed to appeal to patients, carers and those working in the medical profession. It promises to a be an informative and instructive day. Space is limited however, so please arrive early to avoid disappointment.
