Discharge home
We have found patient’s make a better recovery after surgery with multimodal rehabilitation than traditional care after surgery. After removal of a portion of the bowel many people are able to go home even as early as 2 or 3 days later. This may sound surprising but is often the case. The nurses in the pre-admission clinic and then later on the ward are able to guide patients.
This 49 year old man had major surgery a few days ago and is going home today.
